Forbes has named Shook Associate Jousef Shkoukani in the 2023 edition of “30 Under 30:Chicago.” Shkoukani was recognized for his non-profi t Unifi ed Under Hope (UUH).
Unifi ed Under Hope is a Chicago-based organization with a mission to empower the nextgeneration of leaders by addressing America’s education inequality throughout minorityschool districts.
“To think an idea that spawned while quarantining during the pandemic would go on toachieve a Forbes 30 Under 30 recognition for our eff orts in helping hundreds of minoritystudents in Michigan’s lower socioeconomic school districts is surreal. But I’d be crazy tothink that Unifi ed Under Hope’s success is mine alone,” said Shkoukani. “Our team, board,donors, and supporters have made UUH the non-profi t, 501(c)(3) that it is today. And I’mbeyond grateful.”
UUH matches college and recent graduate tutors with students of similar backgrounds,interests and geographical ties. This match and tutoring enables academic success whilecreating mentorships for many fi rst generation students. So far, UUH works with some ofthe largest school districts in the United States and has served over 500 students.
Shkoukani joined Shook Chicago in 2021 and focuses his practice on product liabilitylitigation with an emphasis on tort and business litigation matters.
