Jousef Shkoukani is the founding and managing attorney of Shkoukani LLP, where he represents clients in complex commercial litigation and product liability matters nationwide. His practice spans from pre-litigation strategy to trial, with a focus on defending high-exposure disputes in both federal and state courts.

Before Shkoukani LLP, Jousef was a corporate litigator at Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP (Chicago)—an Am Law 100 firm nationally recognized for its trial strength and product liability defense—where he served on trial teams in multiple federal jury trials and represented Fortune 100 companies in multi-jurisdictional commercial and product liability litigation. He has drafted and argued dispositive motions—including summary judgment, Daubert, and in limine motions— and led expert and fact witness strategy in complex cases. In one notable matter, he helped secure summary judgment in a multiparty federal action, eliminating substantial exposure for a client in a regulatory-sensitive industry.

Jousef has managed a nationwide litigation docket spanning seven federal jurisdictions, regularly serving as lead or local counsel through critical pretrial phases. His approach is defined by strategic clarity, operational fluency, and trial readiness—skills informed by his early career experience in in corporate finance, procurement, and internal audit functions at global automotive companies.

Those experiences include, working as a financial analyst at BorgWarner, a purchaser at Continental Automotive, and an assurance intern at Plante Moran.

Prior to his legal career, Jousef earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law, where he served as Class President, Managing Editor of the Law Review, a Moot Court board member, and a graduate of the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute. During law school, he externed for the Honorable Amy Ronayne Krause of the Michigan Court of Appeals, Fourth District. Jousef holds a B.S. in Accounting from Oakland University, where he graduated with both Program and University honors, and served as Vice President of the Student Congress.

He is a contributing voice in Chicago’s legal and civic communities. Named to Forbes 30 Under 30 for innovation in the NGO and education space, Jousef serves on the Local School Council of Wilma Rudolph Elementary, the city’s only fully special education public school. He is also a quarterly contributor for the Chicago Principals & Administrators Association magazine and informally advises its union on legal policy matters affecting public education leadership. Jousef also serves as Director of the Younger Members Committee and is on the Membership Committee at the Union League Club of Chicago (“ULCC”) for the 2025–2026 term.
